More than 10,000 students participated in a massive protest in Santiago, Chile on June 20. The event was organized by the National Coordination of High School Students (CONES) and the Coordinating Assembly of High School Students (ACES). “We want the government to improve the quality of education and make it a more egalitarian system, so that even people who don’t have money can go,” Manuela, a student from Liceo Siete of Santiago, said. “Right now the reality in Chile is that if you don’t have money, you can’t go to school. This happens all the time.”
