This Week on thepeoplesrecord.com:
June 23, 2012
We’ve noticed that every time we post about Julian Assange, updates to his extradition, or wikileaks that we lose 2-5 followers. So naturally, this week we’ve decided to dedicate an entire series of original posts on Wikileaks.
We’ll be interviewing Christine Assange (Julian Assange’s mother) and we’ll be doing posts that try to comb through every angle, explain the nature of the sexual allegations, exactly how and which facts have been misrepresented by the media, and of course updates to his extradition.
Additionally, we’re going to Chicago for a week on Thursday (June28-July5) for Socialism2012 (a huge leftist conference in Chicago put on by the Center for Economic Research and Social Change) so we’ll be posting live coverage &hopefully some great interviews from that as well! So many good speakers are going to be there, and we aren’t sure who we can get to agree to do interviews with us yet but attending the conference will be: China Mieville, Glenn Greenwald, Richard Wolff, Sherry Wolf, Boots Riley, Wallace Shawn (from the Princess Bride and Clueless), Ahmed Shawki, activists from Greece, Syria and from the current student movement in Canada, and many many more. We’ll try and cover as much as possible.
We’re also expecting to launch a Kickstarter for our 6-month project, which we’ll be able to share with you guys shortly.

The sex scandal(s) are really annoying and it was fairly obvious from the moment someone stepped forward that it was a smear campaign. I’m not saying he’s a saint, but the timing was what gave it away.
