Our Kickstarter project is nearly 50 percent funded with two weeks to go!
If you haven’t already, please visit our Kickstarter project page & watch the video about our upcoming fall project!
About our project: In fall 2012, The People’s Record will travel across the US & Canada to document upcoming activist communities: anti-war groups, women’s rights activists, LGBTQ advocates, immigrant rights activists, racial equality advocates, environmental & co-op organizations, anti-capitalist movements & many more. We will be covering the following cities:
Phoenix, Arizona
Los Angeles, California
San Francisco, California
Oakland, California
Berkeley, California
Portland, Oregon
Seattle, Washington
Vancouver, Canada
Denver, Colorado
Austin, Texas
Dallas, Texas
New Orleans, Louisiana
Madison, Wisconsin
Chicago, Illinois
Washington, D.C.
Baltimore, Maryland
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Boston, Massachusetts
New York, New York
Montreal, Canada
We will highlight these groups of resistance through personal interviews, photo essays, livestreamed protests & in-depth analysis pieces to elevate these activists’ struggles to a wider audience on The People’s Record.
While we are blogging these communities’ stories, we will also be working on a publication about these activists set to begin production in 2013.
We have worked hard to save up for this endeavor, but given the scope of this project, we need your help. You can donate to our Kickstarter fund & even click on our Google ad once daily on our site. With your support, we will be able to spotlight these communities & their fight for justice & equality.
Along with your support, if any of our readers are in the cities we are covering would like to meet with us & help us get better acquainted with each city’s activist community, please message us or email us at thepeoplesrec@gmail.com.
Thank you so much for your support & readership!
In solidarity,
Robert & Gracie of The People’s Record
