The People's Record

An ongoing chronicle of communities of resistance around the world: anti-racism, anti-zionism, anti-imperialism, the Arab Spring, anti-austerity protests in Greece and across Europe, student movements all around the world, the Occupy Movement, anti-capitalist movements, anarchist movements, socialist movements, leftist communities and other relevant international news.

Picture of Obama’s HQ after tonight’s FTP march in Oakland.

Well it’s nice they stayed peaceful

Reasons Occupy isn’t taken seriously.
They have anger issues.

You’re damn right they’re angry. Obama has killed thousands of civilians with drone strikes during his administration and you’re complaining about a broken window.
@maxvoluntarist, how is property destruction violent?

I never said they shouldn’t be angry. I’m angry about The Fuhrers Drones. All I was saying is it’s things like this that doesn’t make them look good in the eyes of the average American. If they’re actually trying to change something they need to stop wrecking shit, because the average person isn’t going to side with things like this.

You must not be familiar with Oakland (one of the most radical cities in America). Here is an article that the NYT written about Oakland this week. Today’s FTP march attracted over 1000 people despite the fact that the cities population is relatively small (approx. 400,000). NYC’s population is more than 20 times that and we can barely attract 200 people for a FTP march.
The OPD is also infamous for brutalizing citizens. This year, the Department of Justice threatened sanctions for the ‘military-type response to Occupy Oakland’. I suggest you check out my OPD tagfor more info.

Hell yes, we’re angry about police murder.
