The People's Record

I find that I have more allies on the left than on the right, and that is because the left is, by and large, filled with people who are challenging the present paradigm and power structure. I’m interested in totally transforming the structure that exists now, because it is not sustainable.

Winona LaDuke is an Anishinaabe Native American activist, environmentalist, economist and writer. She ran for vice president of the United States Green Party in the 1996 and 2000 Presidential elections.

She has authored the following books: Last Standing Woman (1997), All our Relations: Native Struggles for Land and Life (1999), and Recovering the Sacred: the Power of Naming and Claiming (2005).
